Turning 26!! YAY

Yesterday was my favorite friend Ashleys' 26th Bday. Although I did not get to see Ashley yesterday...she lives in Las Vegas and I live in MT I thought of her all day. I thought of how she knows what I am thinking before I tell her....even over the phone....and how I NEVER have to be afraid to tell her anything. Even when it is mean; she is usually thinking the same thing anyway. She is the CUTEST pregnant person ever! I can't wait for your shower in August. I hope you enjoy being 26. It's pretty much the same as 25....but a little closer to 30!! I LOVE YOU ASHLEY!

Ladies and Gelntlemen, there are currently 14 cars on the freeway.....

This was that Livingston traffic report that we got from our newly made friend from Alabama. Grifs' brother Tom drug himself and 4 co-workers up to MT for a fishing trip. We met them for dinner last night at Chico Hot Springs and had a great night full of fantastic food, toasts and tons of laughs. Peter arranged all of the fishing part of the trip so he and Brooke came to dinner with us which was fun.

Brooke, Peter, John, Roger, Tommy, Greg, Robert, G and I

Brooke and her FLAMING dessert. There was 9 of us, we ordered 10 desserts! It was like a sugar buffet................. My favorite.

Tommy, G and I. It has been great to have Tommy visit twice in the past couple of months.

Our dinner mates. Thank you Brooke for being such and awesome friend! And thank you Peter for being such an awesome outfitter and setting up such a wonderful trip for these guys. They are going to LOVE every second of it! And...you are also and awesome friend.

G gets to join these crazy men on their MT adventures. I am really glad that he is taking some time off from work and going with them. He doesn't get a break very often b/n CTM Arch and the ranch. I don't think that any of these guys deserves a mini vaca more that he does. He is really excited to fish some different waters and being able to do it with his bro is the icing on the cake.

Have fun guys.....stay out of trouble.....eat well.....laugh much.............and CATCH FISH!

Another Busy Weekend

Sometimes I feel like I work harder on the weekends that during the week. And as far as physical work goes this is usually true. Of course it is, I sit in an office all week long. We spent last weekend re-decking and varnishing the boat trailer so we are very ready to receive the raft. I was told that it is shipping for sure on Thursday.......cross your fingers.

I also finally got a reel to put on my new rod. Now all I need is for the river to go down and clear up. But who knows when that will happen. But when it does, I will be ready for it. Watch out fish.........lol -really there's not much to be afraid of.

The RAGING dirty Yellowstone River. It is taking out one of the bridges in town right now. The army had to bring in a temporary bridge because it links a few small islands with residents to town. A big to do around here. People even set up chairs and food in hopes that they might be there when it really goes under. Livingston sure is exciting!
We finally hung the beautiful cedar gate that G built and there have been no signs of deer in the garden so far...............................I am hopeful.

And things are growing...............We have only had things in the ground for a week up there.

Playing Catch Up

It has been so long since I have had the time at work to blog and I am never on the computer at home. I forgot for awhile what it is like to be busy at work every day. Things are beautiful here right now. Everything is so green after having weeks of rain and cool weather. I couldn't get enough of the warm sunshine last weekend and can't for next weekend. That is the tough part about living in MT and working in an office. It is nice for most of the year to be protected from the elements but we don't have a long warm/hot season and it sucks to have to miss 5/7 of every week being in the office. I turned the space heater on in my office for the first time this week.......I HATE A/C!!!!!! WAY too cold for me so I use a space heater in the summer to take off the chill. (Remind you of anywhere else Brooke??)

After demo of original garden fence.

Pounding 14 foot posts.Posts in, ready for fencing.
Finally tilling after all of the rain.

Everything planted except for tomatoes and peppers.

All in and ready to grow!!! YAY!

Grif and I FINALLY finished the Garden.....Well all but hanging the gate. We will probably do that this weekend. It looks SO nice and I am very pleased with my amazing handi-man. The gate is built, just not hung and it is really beautiful cedar. It is going to be awesome. And the best part is that next year all we will have to do is till and plant. No construction needed. THANK GOD.

Pushing babies through the chutes and onto the trailers.

One happy man.
Bye Bye cow buddies......enjoy your new home.

We also sold the cows....and I have not misses them for even a second. We sold them to my moms BFs son as a starter herd so if we ever do want to see how they are doing we know where to find them. But I really don't see that happening. I am glad to know that they are being well taken care of.

Everyone in this area makes a mad dash in the spring to catch the Morell Mushrooms at just the right place and time. We are lucky enough to have some spots in the creek bottom and on the last where these mysterious mushrooms appear. We found them for about a week. They are very tasty and we look forward to them every year.

Tiny baby. Maybe 0ne day old. SO CUTE!

YIKES

This little guy is NOT so cute. Very aggressive and a little devilish. I almost stepped right on him. A horrible little creature if you ask me.
